I dedicate my first official blog entry to the
person who taught me that everyday miracles – the littlest and the grandest –
exist. The impact she has in my life is
unimaginable. Maybe that’s the reason
why she has always been the subject of my school essays, speeches and personal
journal.
When she went home to heaven in May 2015, I
promised myself I would share her story as much as I can. Nine days before her first death
anniversary, I planned to create a daily post to commemorate her LIFE. But I just can’t. When I tried to construct the words in my
mind, nothing happened. The pain would
always overpower my thoughts, then came the tears, the heartbreak and the
headache.
I have a big dream about my sister’s life
story. I wanted to write a book and
publish it. Pretty big, huh? Well, who am I to begin with? I am not a professional writer who knows long
lists of publishers. I’m not even a pro
blogger, who has already established networks through the online world. I’m not a star who can just share random
posts about her #OOTDs, make-up tutorials and everyday shenanigans. Well, maybe I dreamt some of these things at
some point in my life. Let this be a
start of a journey of someone who just want to share a simple life story from
the bottom of her heart.
And so, all “Postcards to Heaven” entries would be
about how a SPECIAL girl made this ordinary life of mine extraordinary. These are letters to an angel, who lived for
24 beautiful years on earth. In one way
or another, this is going to be my outlet to let go of the longing and spread
joy, instead. This is my prayer of
gratitude… my tale of hope… my cry to the heavens.

I don’t exactly remember how I
felt when you came into our lives. It
was never in my memory that you were in Mommy’s belly. All I remembered was having another tiny
little being in our home and an additional instant playmate. Well, I was only two.
While I was busy being a terrible two-year old, you were
just there chilling, doing your thing and having the time of your baby
life. Never have I imagined the
struggles you will face in the years to come.
You were doing great! You always do. But it turned out, God had a different plan
for you and for all the people that you will meet.
This picture says more than a
thousand words for me. Was this a heads
up for us? It’s as if you knew. Is this you cherishing your strength and
ability to hold on longer than you could?
My list would always go on. Some were answered along the way and some I
still have to discover. But, I know now
that God will always show us his everyday miracles in ways we may never
expect. You are and will always be our GRANDEST
miracle.
P.S. I miss you.
Much love,
